1. Information We Collect

When you create an account, we collect your email address and a chosen username. If you subscribe to a paid plan, our payment processor collects billing information; FLT News never stores your full card details.

We also collect basic usage analytics (pages viewed, threads followed, time on page) to improve the Service. To power the admin "world map" of active users, we record the country your session connects from, derived from the request headers on our edge network. We do not store your raw IP address; only a rotating, salted hash used to deduplicate anonymous visits.

If you submit an inquiry through our API contact form at /docs/api, we store the email, company, use case, expected volume, and message you provide so we can follow up.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and operate the Service (authentication, subscription management, followed threads).
  • To send transactional notifications (breaking news alerts, account messages) when you opt in.
  • To detect abuse and protect the Service.

3. Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with the service providers required to run FLT News: our cloud host (Supabase / Cloudflare), payment processor (Stripe), email deliverability provider, and push notification providers (OneSignal and standard Web Push). These vendors are contractually restricted to using the data only to operate the Service. We may also use vetted AI infrastructure and sub-processors to parse, score, and cluster public news wires. No personal billing details or unhashed passwords are ever shared with these sub-processors.

4. Cookies and Local Storage

We use cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in and to remember preferences. You can clear these at any time through your browser settings.

5. Data Retention

We retain account data for as long as your account exists. You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (including GDPR and CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. Contact us to exercise these rights.

7. Children

FLT News is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

8. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-app.
